Wool Product Training – for retailers

One of the attractions of the ITF Academy is the breadth of subjects featured in its Library. There are technical reports, scientific articles, textbooks and manuals covering all aspects of carpets and rugs, from manufacturing, retailing, fitting and maintenance to recycling.

There is, for instance, an excellent introduction to the art of selling wool floor coverings, called Wool Product Training for Retailers. It is written by Hallie Cobb, who, for 35 years, worked in the promotion and marketing of wool products for The Wool Bureau, Wools of New Zealand and Atlanta Wool Connection. During her career, she held various positions in the wool carpet industry, including technical, administrative, marketing, sales training and sales. In other words, she knows what she is talking about.

Wool Product Training for Retailers covers the all features, advantages and benefits of wool carpets – everything a retailer needs to know to sell wool carpets successfully. It is illustrated with pictures and graphs that quickly explain the more complex aspects and characteristics of this premium fibre.

It’s available here: www.itfacademy.org/library. In the Marketing Section of Technical Reports.

If you wish to know even more about wool, the Library has a series of Fact Sheets, published by the International Wool Textile Organisation, about various other aspects of the wool fibre, such as its non-flammability, biodegradability and environmental advantages. All free to download for ITF Academy Members.
